The college and career class at my church is awesome. I love every person who comes and am grateful for their different insights during our studies. It is such a blessing and encouragement to be in the company of peers who love the Lord and meditate on His word! For the past few weeks (and possibly the next couple of years) we have been looking at the book of Job.
Job is a character I have always admired. His account is one I have read countless times. Each time, though, I discover new things. That is something just amazing about the Word of God. It is alive. It never changes, but the words we need will jump out at us when we need them. Well, I am thoroughly enjoying our study into this book and look forward to all the Lord wants to show us through Job's life.
I worked in the nursery during the morning worship service, so I missed the message, but I hear it was amazing. I had a blast with all the sweet, precious children, but my heart longs to have heard the word of the Lord from the our pastor today. It is always a blessing to help in the nursery, but I am grateful for a rotation on the schedule so I don't miss many services.
God is so good! I don't understand how people can live in this world, see the beautiful complexity of nature, and NOT believe that God is alive, and He is good! He died a terrible death to give us freedom. He did it out of love.
Wow. It's a simple, yet blood-stained message. It is a message of hope and of love; one that shows how sovereign God is, as well as how much He longs to be intimately involved with His children. *sigh*
After church, some friends and I went to our usual Sunday lunch locale: Firehouse Subs.
They are pretty good! If you've never been to Firehouse, you should try it out, especially if you have kids (kids meals include a red plastic firehat). And no, they are not paying me to post that. :)
After lunch, I went shopping with some very close friends. We went to Kohl's where I bought this adorable little peasant top:
Now here I sit, trying to work on school, but thinking about today's events instead. It was a typical Sunday, and it was fabulous!
