I guess you'd like to know a little bit about me, huh? Well, let's see...
I am a Christian. I gave my life to Christ when I was 11 years old at a youth service not far from my home town. I was raised United Pentecostal, but as I've sought a closer relationship with the Lord, I have ceased to claim a "denomination." We serve the same God and I intend to love all my Christian brothers and sisters equally. After all, there is only one church and all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are part of that body, no matter what they call themselves.

I'm a speech-language pathologist working with the precious grandmas and grandpas of our current generation. I spend my days helping these wise men and women regain independence of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing skills. We do "brain exercises" rather than muscle workouts! I have a lot of fun, but most importantly enjoy finding God's fingerprints all over my career and in each face I see each day.
I am the oldest of 4 brothers and sisters. There's actually more (4 more, to be exact), but this is the core I was raised around. I definitely exhibit many characteristics of firstborn (obsessive tendencies? hint of perfectionism?), but many of them have mellowed out as I've lived out on my own. I think they have, anyway. I've got 2 nieces and a nephew already here, another nephew and a surprise on the way. I love all these little ones! Can't help but wonder if I will ever have my own...
I am blessed also to be an AWANA Sparkies leader at my church. I cannot count how many times one of these kids says something so profound! God uses these precious young'uns to teach me quite regularly. It's also incredible to be a part of a program that enfuses these children with the most powerful message in the universe: God came, suffered, died, buried, and rose again the third day to allow me, a sinner, to be clothed in His own righteousness so that I can have a relationship with the Holy God of heaven. Wow.
I have never been outside of the U.S. and would like to break that habit. I would love to travel the world! I'm currently researching ways that the skills of my trade could be beneficiary to people of other countries. It isn't as feasible as it would seem, since I'm limited to English-speaking countries. Oh, but if I could learn other languages, my skills could be useful!
My favorite food is Italian, but I do also enjoy Chinese buffets, southern home cookin,' and Mexican food (depending on my mood). Food, in general, is quite wonderful.
